Dan's Christmas Gift To Me

I received an email with a link to my "Looking For An Old LP, Don't Know The Name" thread this morning with the text, "Merry Christmas" and nothing else, signed Dan.

Went to the thread twice and couldn't figure it out... then it dawned on me,  I saw the route to the thread and saw that it was a new folder.  Aptly named because I spent a lot of time in a corner when much younger.

Even Dan doesn't know what will be done here, look at the disclaimer on the main forum page (it made me laugh!).  It made me smile, big.  I even laughed out loud when I looked on the main forum page.

Thanks Dan and the whole Bottlehead crew.

I am honored.  It sure seems like home.

Seems to me like this was the right thing to do.  Only trouble is, there is some pressure on you (Grainger) to supply the Bottlehead world with some completely independent content!  I wouldn't want that responsibility, but if anyone can get it done....it's you ;)

congratulations

JP

Yes, funny enough, i was just saying to myself, that I like this Grainger guy, he always seems very nice and willing to help, so congrats and it is WELL deserved.. And i too laughed at the disclaimer....

Dan is moving me to do something I had talked to him about a good year ago.  So for Christmas there will be an appropriate thread in the folder, very soon.

For all the good natured support you offer this is really good to see. Have a great holiday oh benevolent one! LOL!!!!

I dont want my own forum,  I have a loftier goal ...  Im going to stick around until they use my moniker for naming one of the Bottlehead kits  :-)

Hi Grainger!

I don't log on here often enough and when I saw you had your own little spot on the Bottlehead Forum I was delighted.

For those who don't know Grainger he has been, to me, a godsend.  Faithfully and respectfully answering all my dumb questions for years now.    I've learned a good deal from him and he's a true gentleman!

To quote Neil Young:  "Long may you run!"

well more likely some future model for the septuagenarian would be the Levitra

BTW, if your health care provider invites you to participate in a clinical study that includes a TRUS prostate biopsly (well, actually it was several over the year of the study) - respectfully decline

Several over the year - would that qualify it for hobby status?

Prostate prose from the emedicine site:

"Early investigators in prostatic ultrasonography conducted experiments with ultrasound probes and recording devices. One of the earliest devices was a chair-type apparatus with a probe mounted in the center of the chair. The patient sat on the probe, which was guided into the rectum. Improvements in gray-scale ultrasound display and multiplanar scanning have resulted in user-friendly hand-held probes...the role of transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) has changed; it is mainly used to visualize the prostate and to aid in guided needle biopsy...TRUS has become an extension of the urologist's finger in the early detection of prostate cancer. "

Well this thread has gone to $hit!

I asked my bother in law, a doctor, how doctors learn prostate exams.  He said just how they learned to give injections, on each other... I thought.  I asked if they found many bad prostates in a group of 21-24 year olds.  He said there was usually one in the class.  Then everybody had to learn what a bad one was like.

I feel sorry for that Med student!

When I was in medical school we learned on regular patient in the clinic.  We didn't practice on each other
