Custom Quickie

This is my first DIY audio project.  Quickie pre with custom base.  I made the base out of large paintsticks(free from hardware store).  I put 1/2" by 3/4 inch blocks in each of the four corners for support and brad nailed it.  Then I added bamboo that i thought looked great with the yellow acrylic top.  Really fun kit that went together easily, and it sounds excellent with my Dynaco st -70.

WOW!  I haven't seen a Quickie in a long time.  The yellow really pops!  Just looking at the pictures I couldn't imagine that the base would hold together.  Your explanation makes sense out of what I saw.
