Crossover inductors

I have a couple of 4 mH iron core inductors. I need a couple of 2.2 mH inductors. Any ideas on how to transform one into the other? Keeping in mind that the only measuring instrument I have is a volt-ohm meter, no oscilloscopes or signal generators available here. TIA

You will need a meter that can measure inductors. To change the value you simply cut them down until you have the desired value.

Two 4mH inductors in parallel will give you 2.0mH, which may just be close enough.

There are meters for such things :o  I do need 2 so parallelling them up won't work.
