Considering Steremour II

It may sound a little thin in the bass at 8 ohms due to the 3.5-ohm impedance dip - unless there is a room resonance around 150-200Hz to compensate. Normally, a dip below 5-6 ohms would indicate 4 ohms is likely to be best, but room acoustics plays such a big role, it's usually worth trying other impedances.

For what it's worth, Stereomour has a bit more damping than S.E.X.

If 4 ohms sounds better, you can even try 2 ohms!

Thanks everyone and great information Paul. I definitely do not want thin bass. I think I'll start with 4ohm and go from there. Appreciate the feedback.

Hi Mucker hows everything in your setup a year down the track? What are you running and any changes or thoughts appreciated. I’ve been running a crackatoa for a long number if years - pretty much since it came out. Looking to add a speaker system for a smaller room probably desk/stand/wall mount. Speakers are a problem - looking at a kit option with german drivers or other. Klipsch that you have are available here but had monitor audio before with similiar metal drivers and while powerful lack detail and subtly and came across as rather “brittle” Reviews seem to suggest same but open to your thoughts. Will be driving from my rega rp6 / fiio k15 dac pre out (the dac section is great amp o/p “challenged” ). Pre amp / amp combo still undecided. May bh tube all the way or bh pre amp pass labs class a kit power amp. I know i wont be happy if cant approach the crackatoa mullard hd650 level as just long term love the combo - anyway open to your thoughts? Note cant get carried away as in australia we are punished by the x0.6 exchange rate … cheers

If you can find a pair of Dahlquist M905 speakers used in your area, those are a good place holder for low power SET amps in small rooms. You'll definitely want to remove the tweeter and get fresh ferrofluid (partsexpress sells kits for this).
