Hello from Colorado. Tungsol 5998,  EH 12BH7 up front. Sounds pretty sweet on my T1's. This is the perfect pairing for them really, far prefer over solid state.

This stuff really is addicting

How did you achieve the finish on the wood?

I agree, would be sweet to have a meet. RMAF is next month, will be definitely going to that.

I finished the base by staining twice with ebony. Wiped parts away with a cloth before it stained too much, sanded away at other parts so it would be intentionally imperfect. Let that dry out for a day, then went over with two coats of that orange looking stain. Sanded with 220 then started a few days of polyurethane coats, sanding between each coat lightly.

T1's I cant afford but I think Crack is a made in heaven match for all the Hi-Z Beyers.  I cant listen to my 880's or 990's on any of the SS gear now.  Crack spoiled it.
