Capacitors

My wife just got back from Japan ... she refused to buy me a pair of Takatsuki 300B so the compromise was capacitors  :)  Very exciting!  The square ones are Nichicon 9uF 750V film caps; the four to their right are 100uF 600V caps, and to their left is a 47uf 800V film cap and a 100+100 500V cap.

I'm thinking these Nichicons will make great first cap in a tube power supply.  I need the 100uF 600V to replace blown caps in a 211 amp, and the other two are spares.

Might I suggest a slight change to your post.  Take the bubble wrap off those caps!  I'm really curious to see the square Nichicons ;D. And all the rest.

By the way, Mouser sells comparable film capacitors. Look for DC Link caps. I haven't bought any of them since I have a stock of motor run caps but they appear to be smaller which could be handy when I am running out of room.

Ray, there are cars smaller than some motor run caps.  Or worse yet, power factor correction caps.

Here they are. I should have posted this from the beginning

I'm not sure it's entirely visible, but the the 100uf 600V cap is TMC, the 47uF 800V is Shizuki RU-Z, and the Nichicon cap has 13SRH written on it, but I haven't been able to find any specs online.  The construction (plastic case, black potting) looks and feels very similar to the Shizuki.

Hi Ray,  yes, you're right. I've seen these only recently. The film can types on Mouser are large though... the nice thing about the Shizuki is that it's 35mm.
