Dont let anyone tell you that wires, capacitors, resistors, pots, etc dont make any difference. I bought some Jantzen Superior Z caps for my speakers years ago. I moved on from them several times. Migrating to oils because I felt I needed more of an 'analog' sound. Trying to tame the digititus. I came to realize that I was barking up the wrong tree. What was needed was a cable and speaker wire mod, and that the Jantzen was in fact just what I needed in the circuit. I'm glad I kept them. I have them bypassed with Mundorf SIO's and they sound much tighter and cleaner than the AmpOhm PIO's that I had bypassed with SIO's. Who would have thought. I also tried the Obligatto's with the Mundorfs and they didnt sound good. I thought the Obilgatto's were 'better' than the Jantzen's. Just goes to show you. If you bought something, it was for a reason. Dont throw it out! I know the Superior Z's reviewed well. I dont always trust the reivews though. Now I can hear the qualities that the reviewers mention. This hobby plays with my head!

I, too, am from the "don't throw it away" school. But sometimes it can become a problem. I'll post some pictures of my stash, er, stashes.
BTW, I am a big fan of the clean crisp highs brought by silver in the signal path.

First is caps the size of a Foster's Lager can, 450V, and transformers, then oilers power supplies etc., then caps resistors and things I can't remember, and finally the stack of nuts screws washers and, at the bottom, drawers of larger electrical parts.

Grainger, At least your stash is organized. Umm, got any 2.2 caps you would be willing to sell. Say OB or something?

Actually... the tubes are mostly upstairs in one of those drawered boxes. I have a number of ST-70 tubes in one of the drawers in the last picture. The box with a few tubes in it is way too big but didn't want to discard the handled box.

Doc won't let me put "For Sale" ads here. It has no use now that the cat box is out of my work room. The old cat was put to sleep 2 months ago.
Also, I have a crawl space, so no one wants to be down there. Sadly even my listening room is so narrow only 3 could listen at a time. Well, maybe we could have a second row of 3 guys standing.
