BeePre Ordered today!

Well, the basic build is done.  I decided to have a beer rather than do testing tonight.  ;)  I was at it for about 7 hours today.  I'll do testing tomorrow night and if all goes well, install the Bequiet next weekend.

Here is a quick iPhone pic of the business end for now.

Well, I just ran all the voltage tests tonight and everything is spot on right out of the gate.  Guess I'm getting better at this.  ;)

Tomorrow night I'll give it a listen and then this weekend if all goes well I'll install the BeeQuiet.

Well, since selling my stereomour to purchase the BeePre,  the closest amplifier I could grab to test the BeePre with my Altecs was my DIY FirstWatt F5 I built a few years ago.  It's a solid state, class A amplifier that is good for about 25wpc RMS.  I really like this amplifier and have heard it quite a bit but always with my DIY Pass B1...

Well, with everything hooked up the first thing I noted was that this preamp is dead silent.  No hum, hiss, buzz or any audible noise between tracks.  It sounds unbelievable and added that DHT magic to the F5's neutral, if not a tad warm presentation.

I listened for about an hour and a half before I had to power down to get the kids ready for bed.  I am very anxious to install the BeeQuiet, but I can't believe that there is really still room for improvement.  I'm blown away.  I really, really can't wait to get the Paramounts in and built now!

I installed the BeeQuiet last night and gave a short listen this morning before heading out for the day.  I can definitely hear an improvement in bass and overall detail.  I really didn't think it was going to be possible to detect and improvement but its certainly there.

I'm very happy with where this has taken my system.  I just want to sit down and listen for hours.  I am so glad I took the leap and can't wait to see how much better things get with the Paramounts and Eros later on.
