Alps Blue potentiometer

I know this has been posted before but I couldn't find the exact specs.

I want to change the stock potentiometer to the Alps Blue Pot to rectify the non-linear gain at low levels. I've been told it comes in different versions and also length of the shaft also varies. Which version should I get such that no modifications are needed for it to fit the Crack?

I searched on Mouser and they don't carry it.

The stock value of 100k Ohms is in the center of the range.  You can use any Audio Taper Dual (stereo) pot from 50k Ohms to 200k Ohms.  I cut the shaft if it is too long.

I put one in my SEX 2.1 and built one into my Crack. Both are 100K, the one in the SEX is working well and the #s check out on the Crack. (Haven't heard it yet.) My mistake was not checking and getting the ones designed for board mounting. I just tinned the pins, used some vintage flux paste and let the solder do its thing. PartsConnexion (no interest) had a good price and good delivery. They also have nice gold plated brass knobs that fit right on and IMO look good with brass screws on the panel. Good Luck

Awesome. Thanks

That is what the resistors do.  Not every source has a variable output level.  My DAC doesn't, my Eros doesn't but my Yamaha CT-800 does.
