A little resistance trouble shooting :)

I've just completed all the soldering, it was a lot of fun. I didn't rush, went slow and read everything at least 2 times. It was my first time with a solder iron, but it wasn't too hard. Really enjoyed it

Some of the wiring was pretty tricky, like terminal 13... But I thought I managed pretty well. Until I did the resistance check.

Terminal 1 & 2 doesn't show any reading at all, 3 reads 0 ohms and 4 & 5 is blank as well!?
All the other reads good except for terminal 13 (no reading) and the RCA centerpins which is dead. All the soldering looks fine (I think).

Where do I start to trouble shoot this?

Hello Mike,

As indicated in the manual, resistances with a * will vary from meter to meter.  What you don't want to see here is something close to 0.

13 is kind of in the same boat, some meters will be able to charge up the cap that sits there, others will not. 

I'm not sure what is meant by the RCA jack center pins being dead.  Is dead 0 or over limit?

Sorry 1,2,4,5 doesn't give me any reading at all. It that ok? Same goes for the center pins at the RCA.

Yeah, 1, 2, 4, and 5 can be anything more than a few Ohms. 

As far as the center pin issue goes, you should be OK provided you have the wire connecting the two levels of the volume control at the inner lug on each level.  You may also just need to increase the resistance range on your meter to see 100,000 Ohms.  (100K)

Ok, so how about 13 (which should be climbing toward 270K ohms) which gives me no reading?

It's a 270K resistor across a 220uF capacitor.  This terminal also has a "*" on it in the manual, as some meters can see that there i a 270K resistor there, and other meters can't determine that there is any resistor there because of the capacitor also.  If 13 showed something between 0-270 Ohms, that would indicate a pretty serious issue with the amp.
