6FM7 Tube Rolling

I think I've read most of the SEX4 threads. But I may have missed some. I don't recall seeing anything on the subject yet.

Are there any preferred 6FM7 variants you've found during tube rolling? Or are they like the 6DN7 and 6FJ7 dissimilar duo triode tubes that have very minimal difference in sound across brands?

There are a couple of variants of 6FM7, but I personally haven't spent a ton of time evaluating any of them. The Sylvania in particular looks a lot different internally than the others.

I currently have Sylvanias, RCAs, and Westinghouses in my office but haven’t done a critical listening session yet. I recall the Sylvanias measuring differently when we were getting specs for the manual but maybe it was just one tube that was out of spec. I can’t remember the specifics.

Good possibly as a future mission. My personal project list and honey-do's will likely postpone a SEX4 build at this time. But I am considering changing some of my priorities to move this mission up a bit.

I've always enjoyed amplifiers with a touch of feedback. Not much, just a tad. I had my eye on the Seductor back in the day. But I waited too long and it was retired.

I also need to "Thin The Herd" a bit. My brother is interested in a few items that I'd be happy to donate to him for his listening pleasure. The rest I'd need to rehome.
