Yet another Crack amp in progress

So, not done by a long shot, but here's some preliminary pics of my Crack amp under construction.  The transformer is still getting painted, the bottom needs sanding, some more dye, and the feet mounted, oh, then there's all the wiring to be done and still more finish work.

Note the locking toggle switch behind the front tube -- this switch is th heater configuration switch to allow for easy (but not too easy) switching between 12aau7/12bh7/e80cc types, and 6cg7/6fq7 types.  The 4 stainless holddown bolts will also eventually get gold plated.

Transformer will be gloss black with hammertone gold bell and black sockethead bolts.

Enjoy,

Jim

Grainger,

It's the stock alder base with a waterbase analine red dye, followed by a couple coats of minwax wipe-on poly, and then a light 600 wet/dry sanding.  There will be another very light wet/dry sanding and then a hand-rubbed paste wax applied and buffed.

Smashing base! I really envy people with woodworking skills; I'm lucky that I can even put the thing together and stain it.

Thanks, and whileI don't know how it really looks, or how the pictures turned out, it feels smooth as the proverbial baby's butt.

The base for the s.e.x. will be coming up next, and is quite different.  Then I'll have to come up with something really special for the Stereomour.

Thanks again,

Jim
