What you can/can't do with Analog/Digital

Last trip to the record shop I picked up a kid's album, "Candy Man" by Disney for my 7 year old granddaughter, then had her over Sunday. I could tell she wasn't thrilled, you know, no keyboard, no Retina display. So I showed her what a record player could do the Ipad couldn't, play 33 1/3 at 45!

"A Spoonful Of Medicine" made her cackle with glee and I had to play it over and over until finally she shouted. "Chipmunks"! So we got out the Ipad and watched Chipettes sing songs from Frozen . A couple of hours went by in no time (some ice cream helped) until my daughter was greeted at the door with "Mommy, Mommy, you have to hear this" and Spoonful went round and round again.

Today, with my eyes dilated from the pre-op visit to the Cataract cutter I wanted to lie down and listen to music but not jump up every twenty minutes so I ran the Ipad thru the Foreplay input 2 and cued up Itunes Radio. You can say what you want about Camera Connectors and USB DACs but Ipad 2 straight thru a 32 pin to RCA adapter ain't half bad. Very listenable. Mozart is like sex, when it's bad it's good.

I'm pretty sure that A Spoonful Of Medicine at 45 would make me cackle too.  And I don't really know the album.  I do know the song.

For snoozing to the stereo I, of course, choose CDs.
