video on how tubes are made--very good

I saw this on TV and recorded it.  I watched several times.  There is an interesting slant in the dialog.

Those are really tall tubes shown in the opening!

Very cool. Talk about "tube porn," though - those suckers they showed in the beginning really live up to the "bottle" nickname! Those are 845 transmitter triodes, right?

KR audio calls them T-1610, but that is probably the Chech companies designation. Their site says the amp, 'Kronzilla', is a 50W per channel SET integrated. You have to email or call for a price.

Cheers,
Shawn

Grainger keeps asking for smileys. ::)
We'll give it a try :-\
I wonder if anyone else finds them somewhat insipid?  >:(
Is it possible to use too many in a post? ???

;)

I thought I started a new topic!  :o

That's great, the kissass.gif is my favorite.
In case anyone is interested, a matched pair of T-1610s will run you $2,499. The 'Kronzilla' amp only costs 16k. The tubes are supposed to have a operating life of 8-10,000 hours, what a bargain. They are beautiful though.

You should notice I only ask for one.  But I realized a tongue-in-cheek smiley face might look.... let's say rude.  Well not quite like the link you supplied.

I just want others to know when I'm joking.  Maybe this one:

And on the "Modify/Preview" page I found you stocked some smiley faces.

Thanks Dan.
