Tube Rolling Experiences?

The stock tubes sound extremely good but does anyone have experiences rolling other tubes? What did you try and what was the result?

I mentioned this in another thread but IMO the metal tube RCA JAN CRC's are fantastic. eBay has some pairs out there. Not too outrageous but not cheap either. The photos show tubes made in 1952 (70 year old greatness!)

Also have been playing with:

TUNG-SOL 6K6GT Gray Plates
KEN-RAD 6K6GT black glass
Sylvania 6K6GT black plates
