Tolex Prep

I just ordered my Toad kit and I wanted to cover the frame in tolex. I saw at least one other person did this and I was wondering if the rabbet where the plates fit needed to be made larger to accommodate the tolex thickness? Since this is my first time using tolex I was also wondering if I needed to do a 1/4 round on the edges of the frame or can I just leave the sharp edge. Thanks.

Hey Randy. I haven't been around here much, and I just saw this. I didn't modify the cabinet at all. I just used a putty knife to seat the tolex in the rabbet. It went fairly easy. Good luck.
