thinking about making the jump to some different batteries

Hi, I have been running sunbeam batteries in my Quickie, and generally get about a month or so out of them.  Amazon has some powersonic 12v batteries in 5ah, 7ah, and 9ah sizes.  Are three of the 5ah batteries enough to get a good run out of the Quickie?  If I ran the Quickie for an hour a day, how long would it take before the 5ah would need charging?  Also, what is a good charger for these?  I'm not very familiar with SLA batteries, just want to make sure I get the right one..  Thanks,

SLA batteries in that capacity will self-discharge long before the Quickie uses the energy.

Quickie draws 0.004 amps, so 5 amp-hr is 1250 hours. That would be 3.5 years at 1hr/day - if the battery did not discharge itself.

I have 3 5Ah power sonic batteries providing the 36VDC and they only need charging once a year.

So do you think that's the way to go?  Sounds like a lot of capacity to me.  I definitely use it a lot more on the weekends though, so maybe that's the ticket (unless there is another option that makes more sense).

I'm a big fan of SLA batteries.  If I am correct the Bottlehead DAC will use them.  Battery power is awesome for its lack of noise.

Hmm using battery for a dac?  Never thought about that one.  I will probably wind up going with the SLAs for the Quickie, but the one thing holding me back is the charger.  I have heard good things about the CTEC US 800, but it is a little bit expensive at $46.  Are there other good options for less?
