Submissive and recording

I plan to do some recording with several reel to reel decks ( not at the same time ). Can the submissive be used to switch between several sources and the record inputs of the reel to reel decks? Should I just build a separate switch box to do this or would the impedance become an issue?

With a number of different sources, a number of different inputs and no information about the impedance of any of them it's really impossible to say what will or won't work.
