resistors in power supply change

Hello
I'm rebuilding my amp and wondered if its ok to use  Mills Resistors 270R 5W MRA05 in the power supply instead of the white cement blocks

and can I replace the metal film resistor 270ohm 1 watt in the psu  with a Mills 270r 5w aswell? 

I bought some 5W kiwame Resistors but thinking the mills maybe better for the job

Many, if not all, Mills resistors are non inductive.  One favorite modification is to replace the resistors or one with a choke.  The inductive nature of the cement resistors is beneficial to the power supply.  Induction in the filter only makes the filter more effective.

Why not use a choke instead of the Mills resistors?

yeah I was thinking of replacing that last resistor with a choke  later on  but for the moment I'm gonna rebuild without it

After i finish the rebuild i will see  wheres best for me to fit the choke then,  but  you've kinda changed my mind about it now  :P

Couldn't I use the 1 mills resistor that goes across the power supply that everybody leaves in ..  I've seen other peoples builds with them using different resistors in this place 


Just that I was ordering some new parts on thought I could buy some nice resistors

is it not worth changing any of the resistors then ?   
also have one  270ohm 1w audio note tantalum ...could I use this instead of the metalfilm 270ohm 1w in the psu ?

think I will fit a choke now just wonder about the other resistors now

A 270 Ohm 5W resistor can be replaced by another 270 Ohm 5W resistor.

A 270,000 Ohm resistor probably shouldn't be replaced by a 270 Ohm resistor.

A 1W resistor that is sort of a tight fit in the build will become rather ungainly if it is replaced by a 5W part.  A 270K/0.5W resistor will work fine in the Crack circuit.

so just to confirm guys its ok now  to use the 1 mills resistor going across the power supply.... the second resistor replaced with the choke......  and the final metal film resistor could I use the 270R 1W Audio note tantalum resistor I have?

also on the website hificollective  it says its better to use the higher 12 watt version this be ok ?

I will repeat, again, that if you replace a 270,000 Ohm resistor with a 270 Ohm resistor, you will damage your amplifier.
 
I'm very sorry i meant  270K 1W audio note tantalum resistor , completely confused then sorry

Grainger, thanks for that tid bit on the inductive nature of cement resistors being beneficial to the power supply as filters.  With all the talk of non inductive resistors one never hears of the benefits of inductive resistors.
