Resistor missing from kit

The 390K Ohm 1/2watt resistor is missing from my kit.  I bought a assortment of resistors from Radio Shack, but none are exact.  Can I string up resistors together to the closest value?  Example: Combine (1) 220K + (1) 100K + (1) 47K = 367K or (4) 100K together.

The 390K value is pretty critical since the circuit is directly coupled, but 400K may be close enough.

If you are in the continental US they send out those parts first class USPS Mail.  It is pretty quick.
