Got the 1.1 black matte 'Q' yesterday, and have an idea that I wanted to share. The brass RCA Victor plate is not permanent, so what's the vote, yea/nay?

Phono pre, Yup good thought. I didn't want it to be 'too much' It's a careful dance between classic and modern, so I am trying to get the right balance, if it is even necc at all. Same with the knobs. Just a shot in the dark at the moment.

Wow looks great!!!  Very classy looking with the black and gold.  I'm impressed.

You already got your Matte Black.  You must live next door!!

Meds? Oh yah those. My team of psychiatrists mostly agree that I am doing well(except for one...he is a dead man).

I promise not to use epoxy to attach the brass plate.

Almost complete. Just have add this:  I'm soldering and soldering. Down to the last little bit of my favorite solder. Less than 2" left. Then, while trying to solder the last joint, I can't get the stuff to melt! 'Piece of crap!" "Lousy solder" Bad iron? Bad solder? No....I picked up a small piece of cutoff lead instead of solder. Makes me laugh.

Do you plan to cover the bolts with something?  I'm assuming the battery holders are mounted underneath?  Thought about maybe building a Quickie and doing that, then putting a big transformer cover over the top.. Just a thought!

The bolts are brass and serve as decorative. The plate came to mind for covering some of the blank space. This is the kind of kit that you can use your imagination.

Too late honey, they are sold. There were Parasound mono blocks that I used to use for sub amps. I sold them on Audiomart, which is a new experience for me.

There are a bunch of knobs available on flea bay, but good ones are harder to find. Plus, many of the knob are 6mm mounting hole, so for 1/4" you have some pesky drilling to do. There are other radio sites that sell good bakelite knobs too. Plastic knobs are ok if they have a metal insert.

'ALMOST THERE'

Well, folks, a little work left on the paint job, and then I can relax...until the new chokes arrive.

I'm not sure, but I might try to mount them somewhere on the top on each side of the brass plate.
