Quickie Cathode Bypass Capacitor Value

IT SEEMS THAT I HAVE MISSED SOMETHING ON THE FORUM REGARDING THIS CAPACITOR VALUE. ON MY SHEMATIC, IT INDICATES THAT THE VALUE OF THIS CAP IS 1000UF, BUT ON THE QUICKIE 1.1, IT IS 150UF. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THE CHANGE, AND IF THERE IS ANY SONIC DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO VERSIONS OF THE PRE AMPS? THANKS IN ADVANCE,

The Quickie was always intended to be built from parts on hand.  The 1,000uF used to be the closest optimal capacitor we had in the inventory.  The 150uF cap became available when we came out with the BeePre, so it has been substituted instead.

What would be the ideal specs (capacitance, voltage) for the cathode bypass cap?

PJ's rule of thumb would say that 60uF is a good value, but he has recommended 47uF and bigger.

Thanks!  Specifically, would these Panasonics work well here?  http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/EEU-FM1V102/P12405-ND/613766
1000uF, 35V, Ripple current: 3.19A, Impedance: 15mOhm, 0.5" diameter, 1" hight.

They would work, but it's hard to say if they would be an improvement over what we provide in the kit, as they are made for a much higher rated voltage, and are 1000uF vs. 150uF.
