Paramont LED's

Hello All

I am enjoying time spent with a soldering iron.  Can't wait to here the new paramount in my system.
One quick question.  Maybe I have too much smoke in my eyes but I only see four spots for LED's in the manual for each amp but my kit cam with 5 per amp (10 total) and 10 are listed on the packing slip.

Where does the fifth LED belong?

TIA

Jeff

Maybe my memory is faulty, but don't you use four on the board and a fifth one for the tube socket depending on whether you are using a 300B or 2a3?  Should be there in the directions if so.

Pretty sure the extra two LEDs are there for when you wire one of the others backwards and fry it.

They aren't used anywhere else in the amp.

Unless you want to use them to replace a resistor someplace. But then you will just have extra resistors. Which doesn't really solve the extra parts problem.

It's just a hangover from the old, pre-soft start version of the amp.

Just finished the build.  Resistance and voltages checked out perfect. Now listening to music!

Thanks Doc and crew for another great kit!

So I was listening in the dark this evening and went up close to look at the 300B's.  One of the tubes has blue glowing vertical streaks in the top half of the tube and the other tube does not.  Is this normal?

Also when I crank the volume the blue streaks start to pulse.  Which btw looks very cool up close.

TIA for any input.

P.S.  Really enjoying the sound. Hooked up the Madisound BK-16's tonight(although I prefer the Cornwalls)

What is the break in period for the amps/tubes?  I find they sound MUCH better after being turned on for a couple of hours.

No. Usually both of them do.

Doc is this something I should be concerned about?
A build mistake on my part?
A problem with the tube itself?

Nah, its just some sort of gas in the tube that electrons are bouncing off of (or something like that).  Its just makes them look pretty!  It is part of the manufacturing process in some tubes, but not others.  Its natural for those tubes and means nothing.  Enjoy the music!
