New Bottlehead user here – wanted to say a quick hello and share my first Bottlehead kit build – a Crack w/speedball! I finished phase 1 (just the Crack) a few weeks ago – and all I can say is wow! This amp is so ridiculously good, I don’t know why it took me so long to buy one! I’ve been an avid collector of Schiit goods for a while now and my only foray into tubes has been my Valhalla 2 and Vali 2++, both which I like a lot – that was until I listened to my first album on the Crack…..
I still need to finish the Speedball upgrade, but I haven’t been able to stop listening to the amp as is, my HD650 headphones have never sounded so good! This kit was a lot of fun to build, took my time and followed the directions and voila….worked the first time!
