My (slightly) upgraded Stereomour

Hi folks,

Here are some pictures of my Stereomour, built at the end of last year, and slightly upgraded following some of the forum's recommandations :

1) Alps "Blue Velvet" pot
2) Russian FT-3 0.1uF caps
3) Jantzen Z-Superior 3.3uF parafeed caps
4) Triad C7-x chockes in the power stage (replacing the 360R and 1R200 resistors)

Sounds beautiful. I get very low hum, around 1.3 mV. I replaced the noisy stock 12at7 tube with a quieter psvane.

Thanks for the kind words!

I have a small to middle sized room (less than 200 square feet). I find the Fostex Fe 126en (around 93-94 dB efficiency) to be driven very well (and quite loudly) by the Stereomour. I never pushed the amp to the max power output and use it normally only quarter to half way (it strongly depends on the source output). With a more powerful amp or more efficient speakers, I'm sure you can get more slam, but for the music I'm listening to (jazz, vocals), it's great. I even use the system for movies!

Best wishes
