My Modified Crack

Hello Crackheads.

I just want to share with you the current state my Crack is in.
I think I am more or less done modifying it, but now I need to think about
more permanent mounts for the choke and caps.

I am testing and Jan Meier crossfeed board. It works good in some music where there is an hard L/R Stereo separation
Then its takes care of bleeding the audio a little bit between channels and it gives me a better listening experience.
I am not to happy to put this into my signal chain so I dont know if I will have it in there permanently.

anyway here it is. https://flic.kr/s/aHskQKfAsK

Look awesome! Must have put a lot of time into that. How you liking the 5998? Love mine, but can be a bit much at times compared to the 6asg7.

Are those wine bottle corks for the choke standoffs? Nice touch!

If your looking for a better separation/stereo imaging, it might be worth looking into a Telefunken 12au7/ecc82 tube to try with the 5998. Great combination IMHO (even better with a Telefunken 6211, but leaner).

Thanks. I really like the 5998, I mainly use it with Golder Lion. I am waiting for Mullard cv4003 cryo. should be here next week..
There temp standoffs were from a spoon I stole from the kitchen :) I have replaced it now with nylon standoffs.

I attach come pictures here. I just installed an new TKD pot last weekend and its really great :)

Thanks for the tips. I have a cv4003 on its way. Next stop will be a Telefunken for sure. Just saw your reply pretty late :/
