Max input level

Howdy. I am considering building a balanced xlr to se adapter (using cinemag CMLI-15/15B2 Shielded Input Transformers). These are 1 to 1, so the input level coming from my dac would be it's rated 4vrms signal.  Would this input level be too high for the Mainline?

Also, since the se on the same dac are 2vrms, would 4vrms equate to double the volume at the same position on the amp, or just slightly louder? Trying to figure if I will have enough volume adjustment at this input level. I am using HD650.

Thank you!

The maximum input level to the Mainline is primarily limited by the dissipation rating of the stepped attenuator resistors, and it's so high that it's not even worth mentioning.

Doubling the output voltage represents a +6dB change, which is four steps on the fine attenuator.
