Mainline Completion

The mainline is now completed and has been moved to my listening station.
It took several days, started by painting the top plate, transformer top, tube shields... Was fun, I enjoyed it very much!

Now I'm waiting for the system to burn in, also waiting on a cardas clear adapter for the 4pin XLR since mine came with 3pin XLRs

Thank you bottlehead!

Nice work!  It is very cool looking...  what is that furry thing on the back right?

Haha it's the skull of diablo from the game diablo 3.  -.-

Ok, I don't know anything about games, well, not since my Atari 2600.

I've actually never seen an atari in person, I believe the first console I've ever played was the nintendo FC.

I think my first computer was an Atari 800XL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Atari-800XL.jpg

Hmmm....
Yeah...never seen that one in person either
I do recall the first computer my parents bought was running windows 95, and I also remember the first pc game I've ever played was red alert 95. To date, I'm still trying to find a version that will run on windows 7/8, wanted to relive my childhood, the nerdy part that is, however, no luck so far....

Awesome Mainline!  Looks like you did an awesome job Kai!

Please let us know what your impressions are!

As for the 2600.....I loved the Pacman game that Pacman would always face the same way as you were going through the maze!  Boy have gaming systems come along since then!

I'll give it a week before I do any serious listening.
At the same time, I'm still waiting on a 4pin XLR to 3pin XLR adapter so I can try the balanced output.

I have had a second look, third look and more.  I think this should be the "Tuxedo Edition" Mainline.  It is subtly elegant.

I like the beefy purple power cord.  What is that?

I'll have some other pictures posted this weekend, right now senior design project is taking a lot of time =)

As for the cable, I'm not really sure. Around five years ago, a friend of mine made me three power cables, the one in the picture being the longest one. According to him, the conductor used in these cables were obtained from a broadcasting station/company, it is the very same cable used in the station for professional equipment, does it make the cable good....I don't know....However, I was told these cable will be able to handle 2000w+ easily (not that this system would ever need such power).
