Magequest upgrade question

I was wondering if when upgrading to the new iron if it would be OK to use a 2.7uf cap instead of a 2.2uf and what affect if any the larger cap will have.

No problem. I generally say that anything between half and twice the "ideal" value is close enough. The effect happens below 20Hz; it's a tradeoff between extension and linearity.

It has been a long time since I heard an honest 20 Hz in any room.  A lot of guys are concerned that they get response to 20 Hz but in reality it doesn't happen in a short room.  Mine is short, 24' long.

I think we should worry more about the overtones and grit of bass.  I am always amazed when you really hear the grip of the rosin on the bow on a bowed bass.
