that is the question- how much heat does the reduction generate?--thinking about a closed box or a partially closed box-why such a odd thought-i have a beautiful box that i built for a solid state phono supply that i am considering using- the reduction will fit

A fair amount. The vents were added after the prototype I use was built; they were added for heat/safety reasons. Part of the reason I took the prototype home was to make temperature readings after leaving it on for extended periods of time. The area of the chassis just over the 22Ω resistors reads about 110
