I gess he had been struggling with several health issues the past few years, bt no specifics. Great musician, especially to many of we kids from the 70s. Wish I could give "Eat a Peach" a spin tonight, bt no systems are up at the moment.

The last couple of years have not been kind to our musical greats.

From what I heard Greg ultimately succumbed to cancer. A hard, sad life of booze and drugs was likely a contributor to his lifelong ailments. This story is repeated all too often with our talented musical heroes.

Rest in peace, Greg.

Here, here. All too often is certainly the case. It was the 60s and 70s though .

You also have to wonder how much Duane's death effected him -- I don't know what I'd do if my brother died, and even though we live very different lives...

Allman brothers tunes were always in the set lists in the groups I played in back in the day.
