Fluke 101

Hi all,

Newbie here - I'm gearing up to build a crack and need to pick up a multimeter. I've heard good things about Fluke meters. Would the Fluke 101 work for building Bottlehead kits? I heard they don't measure current, but I'm not sure if that matters.

I'm thinking about making a Mainline in a few years - would the 101 suffice for that sort of project as well?

Though I have a Fluke now, when it breaks I will go back to this meter from Harbor Freight (and other similar places).

Pair that meter with some silicone leads:

The probes that come with newer Flukes are horrible (at least the ones that came with my 174 were really bad), so I'd plan on buying some different probes anyway.

I have no idea of the quality of the new Fluke meters, but be cautious of buying a used one sight unseen. The displays on the old ones can get flaky with time.

Good to know. Looks like there's a harbor freight store near me. I'll go check them out.
