Finished up the Pass Amp Camp mono's and of course - since I was shipped a red top plate for the Quickie - got the red/black combo.

Nice match. You got me thinking now. My Quickie is red as well and I had been looking at these amps before. How does the combo sound?

Lovely combo!
Which speakers do you use?

Ciao!

At the moment some Dahlquist DQ-10's...ya, I know... :o  I found that clipping these on speakers like that is fairly easy.  No harm done but I was reaching for the volume knob pretty fast on some low bass that they were handling but in the DC range!  I've got a little pair of AV123's I'm going to see how they sound on.

Sound overall?  Wonderful!  They are only 5w per side but other than volume level there is nothing missing with these.  Holly Cole sounded like she was sitting in my lap! 8)

The  Quickie and the Camp amp seam to have great synergy and with good  more efficient speakers, could be moderately awesome.

I see you need more power. I loved the DQ's, back in the day. A DIY F-5 will get you 25w or so...John

I guess I am a tube guy but I can listen to an F5.

I have any number of Chip amps, class D,T or whatever. I will not say they don't sound good, Its just I can't completely relax when I listen to most of them. It's probably me.

I have the same problem with front loaded horn speakers. They can be  awesome, but any second, they're going to hurt me...John

Awesome color combo, that's almost exactly how my new kit is going to look.

Well done. Hope it sounds as good (or better) than it looks. Enjoy.

... Just gettin' right on Saturday night ...

Hey John, =--  throw in an Emotiva A/B - its chump change - I would be very curious to hear what you think. BTW - around Christmas they are $100 off....

All 212,

Just seeing this and am about to order te ACA kit as well, and in black and red as well. I got one of the black top plate Q 1.1s and will be using my former red dyed crack base for it -- glad to see another person using this combo.

This will be driving a pair of orcas in our living room with a modified sony PS-1 for cd and  a alix box ffeeding a ydac.

Nice work,

Jim
