Finished Bee Pre

Got it done.  It is absolutely wonderful.  Definitely beats my previous pre.  Seems to have a good bit less gain than my 7N7 based preamp but it also sounds fantastic.  Not sure if there are quieter backgrounds, or what it is in particular that I am hearing that I find so much more involving but the music is more liquid and beautiful.  I was wondering why I spent so much on a new preamp given the trouble Grainger and I went to on our previous scratch build, but I am not now.

Nice, is that a choke mod I see sitting on top?

Yes, those are the chokes we put in the power supply.

Thank you, sounds even better!  These things do run hot though don't they?  Thought about sticking a computer fan in the back, but that sounds like a lot of trouble and no one seems to think it is worth it.

Just felt the need to report back.  I have been listening for several hours.  I am sometimes way too far into analyzing sound and worrying like a bad audiophile.  It dawned on me that I have been listening for a while and doing just that, listening.  Completely forgot to analyze what I am hearing (thankfully) and have been just enjoying the music completely.  That is a really high compliment.  The Bee Pre is worth every penny.  Pj, Paul, and Doc (et al.) just did an incredible job here.

You will be fine on temp but it will be hot! I elevate mine in hope to in lease the circulation a little.
