Fascinating discovery

One of the more outstanding amps that showed up in the Craftsman's Room exhibit at our VSAC shows many years ago was an amazing leather covered amp by Scott Divers.

I just happened to find out today that Scott and his brother Tim built one of the wildest and coolest cars at the Lemay Car Museum - the Ferrambo - a 1960 Rambler station wagon with a Ferrari engine.

A 1960 Rambler station wagon with a Ferrari engine? I love it. In 1970 I bought a 1962 Rambler American with a flathead six, 32K miles, for $200. To imagine it with a Ferrari engine just puts my brain in knots. I do like the Ferrambo, and it is about time that Rambler got a little respect.

My mom had a 62 American like this one -

Very high tech, had front seats that reclined just about flat, and it had these newfangled things called "seat belts". They were supposed to make it safer or something. It was also about the cheapest car you could buy, and it got a phenomenal 20+ mpg when most cars got about 11. Those were 31 cent gallons, BTW.

In high school I had a '64 rambler 220 with a flat head 6 and 3 on the tree. I still believe the "Jesus Saves" sticker my sister put on it before it was handed down to me saved my less theologically inclined butt from being pulled over many a time.
