Custom PB preamp facelift

This preamp was a custom build for Jim that found its' way into my home.  To match my other amps it received a facelift and a couple of mods.  I swapped the coupling caps and replaced the 6J5's with 2C22's.  The knobs will be replaced but here is a before and after shot. It's playing away and sounds fantastic!

That's some facelift alright. Can you tell me a little more about those two new tubes that 'electro shock therapy'? Really, I have seen them before, but know nothing about them, except I like the looks. Also, the copper RCA jacks are some of my favorites.

They are one of the many 6J5 variants but with grid and plate posts.  Something fun and it makes for an interesting look!
