Crack meets Stand & falls in love.

My Cracks got company.

After looking for a stand for my headphones and not finding anything I liked I decided to diy my own to take two cans and ended up making a headphone stand to match my Bottlehead Crack.  It has a Carbon fibre body with solid Oak ends and two tubes running through for keeping the cables tidy. I still need to line the tubes out with a leather or fabric and sand out the hole saw marks on the Oak but you can get the concept.. I have a couple of other ideas I am going to try out also.

I love the pearl inset and the feet. Whats the input tube there? E80CC? E82CC? 12BH7A? Do tell.

Its a E80CC and it is fast becoming a favourite which is something I was not expecting as when I was first plugged it in for a listen it was horribly bright to the point where it was unbearable to listen to with my T1's so I used the HD650's which made things a little better it was suggested to me that tubes need burning in so I left it playing for a few days listened again with the T1's and wow it has really mellowed out.

I think the E80CC still needs a bit more time on it as sometimes with it a slight background buzz is noticeable in the silent parts and other times its dead quiet. As soon as the tube is swapped out the buzz goes.
