Crack-A-Two-A finished

My first full weekend off since July, and the Crack-A-Two-A just happened to show up on Friday.  What better way to spend my time off than building a new kit.

The build went pretty smooth, and I had no issues during the resistance and voltage checks.  It powered up perfectly first time, and sounds great.  Like the Crack but much more resolving and refined. It's the perfect pairing for my HD-800s.

Great job! But I have to wonder if somewhere down the road you might regret not painting the transformer bell end. They tend to rust if you don't.

Well done, that was quick!  It's also cool to see the lowest voltage taps on the power transformer in action over in Japan.

mine has just finished too... and I love it so much!

fuo,

Wonderful neat build, but you have me stumped on some of your mods, could you explain what your modifications are?

Very nice build, didn't skimp on wire. ;D.  But as natural sound stated it will not take long for the end bell to start rusting.

Both shown Crack-A-Two's look great.....and very tempting to build although I already have a first version Crack.
Maybe a nice project for next year  :)

Rocketman248 photo's did show me some info I needed on the Neutrik jack. Got one but still have to install it though. I had been wondering where to put the resistor's but one of the pictures clearly is showing that......thanks !!

Hi Caucasian Blackplate,

Could you be a little bit more specific on your recommendation above? It's not very clear to me what I need to adjust...

1000 Thanks.
fuo

It looks like your transformer is sitting directly on the top plate. Normally there a mounting washers which go between the transformer & the top plate.

yes, the transformer is sitting directly on the top plate but I add extra wire GND (the red one in the photo)
while all 4 bolts (marked with arrow pointed to) are separate to the top plate by rubber mounting washers, so it won't create Foucault currents.
