Could a Crack power a Modi Multibit?

Now that I've got my Crack built, I'm really enjoying listening to it with my Schiit Modi Multibit. Haven't install the speedball yet, will do it in a month or so.

I'm a bit short on space and power points, so was wondering if it was possible to mount the Modi inside the Crack and power it from the Crack's own power supply.

I'm guessing I'd need to step the voltage down to 16v for it somehow, but before I try this, is this feasible?

The power transformer doesn't have the winding you'd need to make that happen.

Well that's a shame, I'll have to put Project Schiit Crack on indefinite hold then. Shame, I so liked the name 

On a side note, do any of amps (headphone or otherwise) have a winding that might be used for this?

This depends a lot on the voltage that your DAC needs for proper operation and how much current it draws.  There are likely some DACs out there that could be powered off the heater winding of the Crack.

Modi is supplied with a 16VAC wall-wart with 100% linear power supply
