Here are some more photos of my new amp. It sounds beautiful - a perfect match for the Lowther DX3s.
Burled rosewood base, metallic black plate, bell, chokes.
Other equipment: Shigaclone CD transport, Audiosector DAC, DIY turntable, Lowther Medallion horn speakers, Ex-Anarchy 25Hz subs, stereo pair filtered with miniDSP and powered with NAD 320BEE.
Separate home theatre system shown in last picture.
Cheers,
Malcolm

Malcolm,

You are an accomplished Wood Butcher, I am more of a wood butcher.  Please note there is a difference.

I have never seen Burled Rosewood.  It is beautiful!  I have a pair of 1970s speakers in Brazilian Rosewood, long before it being embargoed.

Please tell more about the DIY table and CDP.

Real beauties, all.  Flat screen got wall mounted before the amps were placed there, eh?  ;D  Maybe not, but looks like the tubes almost reach up to the bottom of the screen.  My headphone system sits on a low, long 3 shelve AV "rack".  The turntable is on the far end, nearest to the TV.  If I lean to the right in the recliner the dustcover just obstructs my view of maybe 2 square inches of the bottom right corner of the screen.  The TV was there first.  It used to drive me nuts, now I just ignore it.  Well, atleast until I reminded myself of it in this post.  ;)

All kidding aside, that's really beautiful work!!!

Hey Desmond
You are absolutely right about the tubes getting into the screen. Yet I haven't even turned the TV on since I got the Stereomour running!
Really, it's a temporary set-up - I need to move the HT centre channel down so the stereo components can sit on the top shelf. I'm going to make a thick solid hardwood plinth for the amp to sit upon as well.

Cheers,
Malcolm

I probably shouldnt have said anything, you might have never even been bothered by it  ... sorry  ;D

Here is how brilliant I am ...  I originally bought a tall, 5 shelf glass rack to place that headphone system on, in the same location.   Not even thinking about how it would obstruct my view of the TV screen from my seating position.  And nowhere else to put the TV or the headphone system.  I didnt even realize it until I assembled the damned thing.  It obstructed close to a full 1/3 of the view of the entire left side of the screen.   Im a real genius sometimes.   ;D    Luckily it was an inexpensive ebay buy and my wife got a pretty nice shelving system for her figurines so she wasnt complaining.  I knew she had plans for it when she grinned with a glint in here eye and said  "just buy one that will work"   ;)
