Pretty much a tongue in cheek apology considering this is the 'bottlehead forum', with many products that have suggestive names, not to mention suggestive photos to show off some of the products.

Massive abyss between "tasteful" and "tasteless".  Sadly, often confused.

I think guys have an underlying streak of silly adolescence that really never goes away completely. I dont see anything wrong with that. What I dont like is meanness and negativity. One thing I can say, is that the bottlehead forums are some of the nicest you will find. Just ignore the bathroom/sexual humor. Its short-lived.

VERY well said Mr. Wax... Your "socratic" side is well intact my friend... Let us see what happens when your "socrates" and Glenmorangie have a meeting... haha  :)

True true.. Thats my Jekyll and Hyde!

Let me update this.  CB, aka Paul Birkeland, pointed out that the 5 ohm load only passed high, very high, frequencies.  So if you have a 10W 0.1 ohm resistor use it.

Otherwise find an amplifier that doesn't mind a capacitive load (I use an Eagle 2C) and burn them in across the speaker terminals.

It kinda depends on the cap. If you want to cook a 100uf cap, you can use a higher value resistor than you would for cooking a 0.1uf cap.

Yup, but for a 0.1uF you need lower resistances.  I guess while RS stocks the 10W 10 Ohm resistors I could parallel a bunch to get a 0.1 Ohm resistor.

Here is where we need the link to Fo for RC circuits.  I don't seem to have bookmarked it.  I keep my HP15C at the computer and know the formula.

You'd need 100 10Ω resistors to get 0.1Ω. I see RS part number 271-132, which is a two-pack for 2.49. Times 50, that would be $124.50. 1Ω would be easier, "only" requiring 5 packs of RS part number  271-131, for $12.45.

0.1Ω 10W resistors are a purchasable value; Mouser has them starting at $0.55.

Yeah, I hadn't done the math.  I'm home laying on a heating pad and working on a Crack.  I took some pain meds and muscle relaxers.

My mind isn't as sharp as it should be.

Come to think of it I have some low resistance power resistors in my assortment.  I should look at them.

... I have 2 - 5W 0.27 ohm resistors.  Good for most caps.
