Bendix 6080 experience

Has anyone ever heard a Bendix 6080?

Can you describe its sound?

I have, but I don't recall anything special about it. In my system the voltage amplifier stage (12AU7) has more influence on the overall sound. The differences in the 6080 options are pretty minimal IMHO. That said, I have settled on a black plate Sylvania 6080. It seems to have a slight edge over the others.

Interesting, just reading a post on head-fi or one of those forums that said the 6080 tube was more sensitive to tube rolling. I guess I’ll have to try it myself. Have a few of each. Mine won’t be built for a few weeks though.
