ALPS Blue Velvet Noise

Hi all!

I have had my crack for about a month now, and I just had to start modifying it. I decided to get Alps blue velvet potentiometer. However, when I installed it, I heard some extra background noise, I think it's because of my shoddy wiring job and being lazy, but I just wanted to ask you all and get some opinions on what to do. There are some images attached.

The first thing is to try rewetting all the solder joints on the pot.
