I was looking through another batch of old photos today, and came across these
images. This preamp was constructed from scratch around the year 2005.
The circuit is bone stock, and assembled with Dale resistors throughout, including
the Goldpoint attenuators. I deviated from the original power supply design, choosing
to use a vacuum tube rectifier and gas tube regulation. Output caps are Solen, as
are the filter caps....I can't remember what I used for the power supply transformer,
nor the power supply choke.
This was the beginning of my 'black-wrinkle-finish' phase, one I haven't grown out
of yet! The chassis plate was laser cut from 1/8" thick aluminum plate, and powder
coated, along with the transformer end bells.
This thing was pure minimalist design, with only one set of inputs, and dual-mono
volume attenuators.
